Area Memorial Day parades

— Nine Capital Region communities will host Memorial Day parades this year.

Scotia Memorial Day Parade

When: 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 23

Where: Scotia

Waterford Memorial Day Parade

When: 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 23

Where: Waterford

Rotterdam Memorial Day Parade

When: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24

Where: Curry Road and Warrior Path-Mohanasen High School. An open house will follow the parade at the Rotterdam Elks Club on Curry Road.

Stillwater Memorial Day Parade

When: 6:15 a.m. Friday, May 25

Where: Stillwater

South Glens Falls Memorial Day Parade

When: 6 p.m. Friday, May 25

Where: The parade will start at the corner of Main and William streets and continue down Main Street to the Village Triangle Park in South Glens Falls

Ballston Spa Memorial Day Parade

When: 9 a.m. Saturday, May 26

Where: The parade will start at the South Street Naval Memorial. A memorial service will be held on Low Street after the parade, to be followed by submariners dedicating a sub vets memorial. The parade is sponsored by VFW Post 358 and American Legion Post 234.

Gloversville Memorial Day Parade

When: 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday, May 28

Where: Gloversville

Albany Memorial Day Parade

When: 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 28

Where: The parade will start at Patridge Street and Central Avenue and continue east on Central to Washington Avenue to North Hawk Street. The reviewing stand will be at the state Education Building on Washington Avenue. The parade will be followed immediately by a ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Lafayette Park.

Corinth Memorial Day Parade

When: 6 p.m. Monday, May 28

Where: Parade starts at the corner of Fifth Street and Palmer Avenue, proceeds down Palmer Avenue, right on Main Street, left on Maple Street to St. Mary’s Cemetery.
