Mr. McCarthy,

You need to understand that residents are not paying their taxes because most cant afford them ! Especially relative to the value of the home. Put a real property tax cap of 1% of the value of each home or a combined 2% cap including school taxes. Balance the budget by instituting a small tax on all the non-profits that are not currently conributing anything while reaping all the benefits, immediately stop all overtime and stop the accumulation of sick and vacation time . sick and vacation time should only be available and used in any given year- not carried over and expensed to us, because we have already paid for this time in the form of salaries. Public employees should not be allowed to double dip- use it or lose it. And immediately stop all public employees from taking any city owned vehicle home- Cut the fleet and require employees to share and sign out cars during work hours as needed. Stop all the bloated perks !!

McCarthy seems to have hidden all this information prior to last years election. Would he be Mayor today if the voters or Schenectady had the real accounting of his record?
