Union goalie Grosenick named Hobey Baker Award finalist
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. Union goalie Troy Grosenick has made history.
The sophomore netminder was was named a top-10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award. It's the first time a Union player has been named a finalist for the award that goes to college hockey's top player in the program's 21-year NCAA Division I history.
Grosenick ranks third in the country with a 1.69 GAA. His .933 save percentage ranks him third in the country, as well. He tied a team record by posting five shutouts.
In ECACH play, Grosenick posted a 11-3-1 record and led the league in goals-against average (1.60) and save percentage (.940).
Colgate senior right winger Austin Smith was also named a finalist, the only other ECACH player to be honored.
