Berkshire residents can live with weather, but the rainmaker that raged through Tanglewood 75 years ago drowned out the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s second concert on its newly acquired Lenox estate. In doing so it shaped the county’s future, leading to the establishment of a proper summer home for the orchestra and a pre-eminent teaching center, which remain the area’s major tourist attraction.
