Siro's dinner event to feature Yankees' Rivera
SARATOGA SPRINGS New York Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera will make an appearance in town on Aug. 9 for a private fundraising dinner.
Rivera, who is sidelined after knee surgery, will appear at Siro’s Trattoria at the Lodge for “An Evening with Mo” to support the Mariano River Foundation.
The 6:30 p.m. event will include dinner and a casual conversation with Rivera. Attendees will also receive a signed baseball and have their photograph taken with the all-star relief pitcher.
The foundation addresses children’s needs through programs that focus on education, health and wellness.
“Mariano Rivera is one of the most respected and beloved figures in sports,” said Keith Kantrowitz, president of Racing Restaurants of America whose locations include Siro’s Trattoria at the Lodge. “He loves horses and since he’s a part owner in Siro’s, he’s been looking forward to visiting Saratoga for some time. We’re honored to host one of the legendary figures in sports at an event that will benefit children in New York and in Mo’s native Panama.”
Rivera played briefly for the Albany-Colonie Yankees before he began his major league career with the Yankees in 1995. In 2011, Rivera, a 12-time all-star, set the major league baseball record for career regular-season saves, which currently stands at 608.
Tickets for “An Evening with Mo” are available for $500 per person. To purchase tickets, call 516-355-4514. Siro’s Trattoria at the Lodge is located at 1 Nelson Ave. in Saratoga Springs. For more information about the Mariano Rivers Foundation, visit the website by clicking HERE.
