The 144th meet of the Saratoga Race Course starts today. Opening Day was a fiasco! They didn't have the betting machines open - some machines that opened were without paper. The water in many of the bathrooms were overflowing. The flowers were beautiful but many sections of the racetrack was dirty. The floor of the playground wasn't raked nor were sections near the Union Avenue raked. It was the most disorganized opening I've been to thus far. I hope the State doesn't manage the race track next year as I suspect that was part of the problem.
