Alleged drunken driver hits, kills girl

MILTON — Authorities say a 14-year-old girl died Saturday night after being hit by a drunken driver.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, state police, Rock City Falls Fire Department and Ballston Spa Emergency Management Services responded to the 8:33 p.m. call.
Sheriff’s deputies said a 2003 Ford Escape driven by Gavin J. Staulters, 21, of Milton, was traveling south on West Milton Road when it hit the girl, also of Milton. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Staulters was charged with driving while intoxicated and remains in Saratoga County Jail.
The incident is under investigation.
