It's the duty of the Common Council to approve of the Mayor's selection. If they do not-so be it. Stop trying to railroad the process. In Amsterdam and Schenectady the electoral is divided almost 50-50. Thayne and McCarthy may have squeaked by but let's keep it in perspective.

Look at it this way: More people voted against her than for her. Her choice must be approved by the common council. It does not say, they "must" approve her choice no matter what:)
