Local schools step up security on one-week anniversary of Newtown shootings

Schools in the region, including Johnstown city schools and Broadalbin-Perth central schools, have stepped up security today by placing law enforcement officials on their premises, purely as precautionary measures, officials said. Robert DeLilli, superintendent of the Johnstown City School District, said the district is reacting to threats of violence at high school. He added there have been no acts of violence.
