Scotia attorney charged with DWI in Waterford
WATERFORD A Scotia attorney faces DWI charges after he was stopped in the town of Waterford at about 1 a.m. Sunday, according to John Tanchak, public safety commissioner
Lawrence J. Mahar, 60, of 44 Saratoga Drive was stopped by police, and after an investigation was transported to the Waterford Police Department for a breathalyzer test.
Mahar was charged with driving while intoxicated and blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher; improper right at an intersection; failure to keep right; and improper or unsafe turn without signaling.
Mahar recorded a 0.09 percent blood alcohol content, police said.
He was released and is to appear in Waterford Town Court on Jan. 3.
