Spartans turn back Warriors, 37-33

Morgan Sullivan scored a game-high 11 points and helped Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake slip past Niskayuna, 37-33, in Suburban Council action on Friday night.

Florie Comley added eight points for the Spartans (1-2). Niskayuna (1-1) was led by Jordyn Davidson, also with eight points.

Averill Park’s Lauren Van Roy and Caraline Wood both scored 18 points in a 58-44 win over Columbia, and Kelly Donnelly added 11 points in the win.

The Blue Devils got 13 points from Courtney Durivage and 10 from Naslasja Johnston.

Guilderland’s Shannon Mac­kesey scored 10 points to lead the Lady Dutch to a 34-22 win over Mohonasen. The Mighty Warriors were led by Kelsey Cowell with six points.

Shenendehowa (2-0) beat Ballston Spa, 56-36, with 26 points from Carly Boland. The Scotties (1-4) got 11 points from Paige Gallo.

Shaker got 29 points from Mad­ison Rowland, who was 11-for-13 at the free-throw line, in a 66-37 win over Saratoga Springs.

The Blue Streaks got 10 points from Emily Petruccione.

Recovering from a 10-5 deficit after the first quarter, Catholic Central ran off to a 57-22 Big 10 win over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons. Madison Purcell scored 21 points in the win, and Shanley Carpenter added 17.

Paris Jarrell led Bishop Gibbons with 10 points.

Senior guard Liz Harvey topped her own school record with 35 points, including all of the 14 points scored by Berne-Knox-Westerlo in the third quarter, as BKW (1-0 WAC, 4-0 overall) topped Mekeel Christian Academy, 51-41, in the Western Athletic Conference.

Nicole Pigliavento scored 14 points for the Lions (0-1, 2-2), and Macie Holmes had 11.

Northville (2-1, 3-1) scored a 44-26 win over Saratoga Central Catholic, getting 22 points from Lyndsey Wadsworth and 13 from Kelly VanNostrand.

Saratoga Catholic (0-3, 0-4) got six points apiece from Kaylie Fish and Alayna Landolfo.

Schoharie’s Emily Gage poured in 17 points in a 45-25 win over Sharon Springs. Hannah Bowersox added 11 points for 1-0, 2-0 Schoharie.

Sharon Springs (0-1, 0-4) got eight points from Janel Cross.

Middleburgh got past Duanesburg, 50-47, with 16 points from Amanda Roney. Kiera Morgan added 13 points in the win.

Duanesburg got 14 points from Stephanie Rice, and Maddie Kenyon scored 12.

Nicole Conley scored 15 points to lead Scotia-Glenville past Hudson Falls, 59-39. The Tartans (2-0 Foothills Council, 3-0 overall) also got 12 points from Cassie Broadhead and 11 from Maddy Carroll.

Hudson Falls (0-2, 1-4) got 14 points from Sara Casey and 13 from Ellie Gonyeau.

Holy Names remained unbeaten with a 59-23 Colonial Council win over Ichabod Crane. De’Janaire Deas scored 11 points to lead the 11 scoring players for Holy Names (3-0 Colonial, 3-0 overall), and Mary Kate Murray added 10.

Jaycee Volkmann and Ashley Haywood both had six for Ichabod Crane (2-2, 2-2).

Watervliet’s Ailayia Demand scored 19 points in a 64-27 win over Albany Academy. Kailtyn McGarvey led the Bears with eight points in the loss.

Cobleskill-Richmondville (2-1, 3-2) got 16 points from Danielle Kiser, 15 from Hannah Dibble and 10 from Erica Tracy to beat Fonda-Fultonville, 58-53.

The Lady Braves (1-2, 3-2) got 26 points from Emily Parslow and 15 from Emily Frollo. Jeananna Warner grabbed 11 rebounds.

Anna Feller led Voorheesville to a 43-41 win over Schalmont, scoring 10 points for the 1-2, 1-2 Blackbirds. The Sabres (2-1, 4-1) got 15 points from Hailee Metzold and 10 from Madeline Saccocio.

Mechanicville’s Aubrie Zecca scored 14 points as the Red Raiders beat Lansingburgh, 45-34. Allison Ford added 10 points for Mechanicville (1-1, 2-2). Lansingburgh got 14 points from Tabia Gamble.

Maple Hill’s Lindsay Mannion scored 11 points, and Anna Despart added 10 in a 42-29 Patroon Conference win over Taconic Hills. Michele Link and Ashley McKay both had six in the loss.

In non-league action, South Glens Falls got 18 points from Alexis Smith and 15 from Sydney Coon to upend Bishop Maginn, 53-49. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 4-1.

The Lady Griffins (3-3) got 22 points from Shiann Coons, while Courtney Lane added 11 points.
