Ballston Spa village board approves fairgrounds use permit

The Ballston Spa Village Board of Trustees approved an agreement Monday that will require large events at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds to obtain a mass-gathering permit. The deal also will require organizers of events anywhere in the village to get a gathering permit if they will attract 5,000 or more people. The event that was pulled by a radio station was that organized by Albany Broadcasting, owners of 3 country stations; WFFG (froggy 107.1), Corinth, WZMR 104.9(The Cat) Altamont and WJEN 105.3 (Cat country) Killington, Vt. The event was moved to the Altamont fairgrounds. I wonder how this added procedure will affect future wouldbe users of these facilities? Will they just go elsewhere. How much do other fairgrounds have to work with local govts? And for what anticipated crowd levels?
