— A city resident was arrested Nov. 30 on multiple charges for allegedly entering his ex-girlfriend’s residence and choking her.

Muhsin Butler, 18, of 631 Hamilton St. allegedly smashed out the front door window of the woman’s residence with a bucket and entered the home.

He then slapped the woman, wrapped both hands around her neck and lifted her off the ground, preventing her from breathing, according to papers filed in court. This allegedly was in violation of an order of protection the woman had against him.

Butler was charged with felony counts of second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal contempt and unlawful imprisonment, as well as misdemeanor charges of second-degree criminal contempt, criminal mischief and a violation of harassment.
