Firm wants to build asphalt plant in Middleburgh

A mining company is planning to build a new asphalt plant to replace two old ones in Schoharie County. Altamont-based Carver Sand & Gravel is applying for permits from the state Department of Environmental Conservation for the project at its Masick Pit mine situated off state Route 30 in Middleburgh.
