MaryBeth DeCuyke drove home the winning run in the sixth inning to lift Johnstown over Glens Falls in the Foothills Council opener Thursday, 2-1.

DeCuyke plated Lindsay Achzet, who had tripled. Brynn Hlozansky hit a solo home run in the second inning for the Lady Bills (1-0 league, 2-3 overall).

Glens Falls (0-1, 1-1) tied the game in the top of the sixth when Monica Harvey doubled and Marissa Mason singled her home.

Erica McNulty strick out seven batters in Scotia-Glenville’s 4-2 win over Queensbury. At the plate, she smacked an RBI triple and a single. Her battery mate, catcher Julianna Ferrari, had two singles and an RBI. Ali Stuart added an RBI single for the Tartans (1-0, 3-0).

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (4-1) booked a 2-1 non-league win over Ichabod Crane, led by Leah Penning’s two singles. The Riders got a triple from Erin Wadsworth and a double from Brittany Wilson.

Chatham topped the host in the Salem Tournament, 5-3, despite a pair of doubles from Dani DeGreg­ory. Salem beat Fonda-Fultonville in the first round, 8-2, with DeGregory smacking another two doubles and driving in two runs.

Rachel Albrecht struck out eight batters in the win over Fonda. Also in the first round, Ashleigh Maines had three hits, while Abby Dusha and Carolin Strasswimmer both had two hits for Salem (4-3).

Fonda beat Tamarac, 4-1, in the consolation game.
