High Schools: Forshey, Zeglen hold down Hudson Falls
Mitch Forshey and Dan Zeglen combined on a one-hitter, and Zeglen knocked in three runs as Scotia-Glenville beat Hudson Falls, 6-2, in a Foothills Council baseball game Wednesday.
Zeglen, Luke Mancini and Ian Schoonmaker each hit a triple for the Tartans (2-0, 2-0), with Schoonmaker scoring three times.
Nick McKinney hit a triple, double and the go-ahead RBI single in the fouth inning, and Zach Milton struck out 12 in Glens Falls’ 5-3 win at Johnstown.
Travis Nelson had two hits and three RBI as Queensbury beat Broadalbin-Perth, 4-1.
Alex Vickery had two hits and two RBI, but it wasn’t enough as Gloversville lost to South Glens Falls, 7-5, in eight innings.
Mike Cuttita homered to back Miles Kelly’s five-hit pitching, and Shenendehowa boosted its Suburban Council record to 3-0 with a 9-1 win at Ballston Spa.
John Stanley knocked in five runs with a triple and two singles, Jonas Godell plated four runs with a homer and single, and Columbia beat Averill Park, 10-6.
Cody Mooney and Jeff Heck both had two singles, and Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake beat Niskayuna, 8-1.
David Monin had a double and single for Colonie (3-0, 5-2) in a 6-5 win over Bethlehem.

Matt Sand hit a three-run home run for Christian Brothers Academy in an 11-2 win over Albany.
Joe Rooney hit a triple and single as Hoosic Valley (6-0) topped Berlin, 6-4, in a non-league game.
Kyle Derepentigny went 3-for-5 with two doubles and four RBI, as Cohoes beat Corinth, 8-4.
Cody LaFlamme gave up two unearned runs and two hits while fanning seven in Hoosick Falls’ 2-1 loss to Mount Anthony, Vt.

Amanda Augston’s three-run homer in the top of the eighth inning lifted Shenendehowa past Ballston Spa, 4-1, in the Suburban Council.
Winning pitcher Erika Daigle struck ou 14 as the Lady Plainsmen went to 3-0.
Kelly Lane threw a four-hitter and struck out 13, and Marisa Sholtes drove in two runs as Colonie (3-0) topped Bethlehem, 8-4.
MIkayla Shade hit a two-run double for the Lady Eagles.
Emily Burkhard hit a two-run double, and Jillian Hogan drove in two runs as Shaker topped Saratoga Springs, 8-3. Makaylee Dowd and Sara Willner-Giwerc both had two hits for Saratoga.
Jessie Peck hit a grand slam and finished with five RBI, leading Guilderland past Mohonasen, 15-3.
Mallory Harrigan and Kiley DeCastro also homered for the Lady Dutch. Amelia Izzo drove in two runs for the Lady Warriors.
