Jeremy Welsh got an assist on Daniel Carr’s 20th goal of the season in the second per­iod of Thursday’s NCAA hockey Frozen Four semifinal against Ferris State. It was the 100th point of the junior center’s career. It was his last of his college career. Late Thursday night, the Car­olina Hurricanes singed the 6-foot-3, 210-pound Welsh to a contract.
