Groundbreaking finally scheduled for Gloversville Walmart Supercenter

Some seven years after former Mayor Frank La Porta announced Walmart would build a new supercenter on South Kingsboro Avenue Extension, a groundbreaking date has been announced. Walmart spokesman Bill Wertz said Wednesday the groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 3 at the site. Wertz has said construction will take about one year.
