Unions representing nearly 800 employees at Momentive Performance Materials went on strike Thursday through Saturday as a protest against how a worker was disciplined. The union's website has an article about some worker at some other location whistleblowing on an OSHA violation, and getting disciplined unfairly.
Is the discipline of this unknown worker, who "committed a 'significant safety violation'" payback by the company, or evidence of the company's commitment to safety? If the former, then good for the union. If the latter, shame on the union.
The union's website doesn't say what the safety violation was.
