Motorcyclist dies from injuries in Schenectady crash

Schenectady police evidence technician William Relyea takes photographs at the scene of a car-motorcycle accident that fatally injured a motorcyclist Tuesday at the corner of Van Vranken Avenue and Kenwood Street.

— The motorcyclist injured in a Tuesday evening accident on Van Vranken Avenue has died, police confirmed today.

The rider, whose name was not immediately released, died overnight, police spokesman officer Matthew Dearing.

The rider was taken by helicopter to Albany Medical Center for treatment after the 5:15 p.m. car-motorcycle accident.

The motorcyclist was struck by the car at the corner of Van Vranken Avenue and Kenwood Street, the car appearing to have come from Kenwood.

More Motorcyclist's die each year because people do not pay attention and take a left turn in front of them. I myself have had two serious accidents in my lifetime. Bikers are out and it can just as easily be a kid on a bicycle. Pay attention!!!!
