Carl Luciano doesn’t understand why owners wouldn’t let Chloe, his Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, in their stores. “I mean look at her,” he said as Chloe plopped down on the Broadway sidewalk, her small head on her paws. “I think it would be a shame if owners stopped letting dogs into their stores. I’d rather take her with me than leave her at home.” Luciano, of Ballston Spa, was one of many shopping along Broadway ...

Does anyone consider that people are allergic to dogs and shouldn't have to stay out of stores, meant for people????

This is disgusting! I would immediately leave a store if there was a dog inside, unless it's a seeing-eye dog of course. The hoitey-toitey of Saratoga think their dogs are "all it" and they would probably think it's cute if their dog pees on someone standing in line in a store. And how about the dog itself?... do you honestly think the dog WANTS to be cooped up in a store?? For heavens sake, dogs need to run... stop bringing them to a downtown shopping area! And stop treating your dogs like human beings... they are NOT human, they are animals who have fleas, they stink, and do their business on anything and anyone. Keep them out of the stores and out of the Farmer's Market for that matter... there's a health issue there with dogs being around food! Take your dog home and play with him in the backyard, and leave him out of the shopping areas! How stupid can people be?!!

Dogs do NOT belong in stores other than pet stores! I lived with a dog for 8 years and I NEVER would have brought her into a store or to a Farmers Market! If I see a store with one of those "dog friendly" decals I'll go in and tell the owner/clerk that I'm NOT buying anything in that store and why.

Dog owners need to realize that not everyone loves dogs as much as they do -- some people are allergic, and others just plain don't like them. Why must everyone else be made to put up with your pet? (Funny, though, you never see cat owners doing this, or gerbil owners, etc., etc. ... those people seem to be able to keep their pets in their own homes.)
