RPI basketball coach Griffin sets record

TROY — Mike Griffin became the winningest coach in the history of the Renssealer Polytechnic Institute men’s basketball program Sunday when the Red Hawks defeated The College of St. Joseph’s (Vt.), 79-58, at Robison Gym.

The win was the 298th of Griffin’s career, moving him ahead of Bill Kalbaugh, who finished with a

297-341 record in his 30-year

career.

Junior Tim Rupp finished with 24 points, and Mike Brion added 17 for the Red Hawks (6-5).
