RPI basketball coach Griffin sets record

— Mike Griffin became the winningest coach in the history of the Renssealer Polytechnic Ins­titute men’s basketball program Sunday when the Red Hawks defeated The College of St. Joseph’s (Vt.), 79-58, at Robison Gym.

The win was the 298th of Griffin’s career, moving him ahead of Bill Kalbaugh, who finished with a

297-341 record in his 30-year

career.

Junior Tim Rupp finished with 24 points, and Mike Brion added 17 for the Red Hawks (6-5).

CONCORD, N.H. — Megan O’Malley came through with a game-high 24 points as the Vikings won the championship of the New Hampshite Technical Institute Tournament.

Sarah Carciobolo (17) and Raychul Dooley (14) also finished in double figures for the Vikings

(8-5).
