HALFMOON — Police are investigating a motor vehicle accident that killed a 26-year-old Mechanicville woman Friday.

Police said a 2004 Pontiac operated by Lori Diaz was heading south on Pruyn Hill Road Friday around 6 p.m. when the vehicle crossed into the center lane and struck a 2004 Honda SUV operated by Derrick Brewer of Schaghticoke.

The front-seat passenger in Diaz’s vehicle, Lillian Woodrow, 26, of Mechanicville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Diaz and a juvenille passenger were taken by ambulance to Albany Medical Center Hospital for treatment. Brewer and passenger Joleyn Balch were transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital.
