Correca’s goal, combined with the defensive effort by the Sabres, gave Schalmont and first-year varsity head coach Jason Beck an
11-1-0 record with two games to play, and also closed out the chan-ces of its closest competitor as the Blackbirds fell to 8-3-1.
Trey Jasenski scored three goals early in the second half, helping Mohonasen to a 3-0 win over Shaker in a Suburban Council game.
Steve Coughlin set up Jasenski’s first goal, Bob Ralbovsky assisted on the second goal and Jasenski ripped home a free kick to make it 3-0 and complete his third three-goal game of the season.
