STONE ARABIA — State police are investigating a two-vehicle accident on Stone Arabia Road that killed a Fort Plain woman Tuesday afternoon.

Patricia McVeigh, 53, was killed when the Chevrolet Astro van she was driving was hit head-on about 4 p.m. by a Dodge pickup truck driven by Edward Dillenbeck, 20, of Fort Plain, State police senior Investigator Karl Meybaum said this morning.

McVeigh was pronounced dead at the scene by Montgomery County Coroner Susan Quackenbush, Meybaum said. Dillenbeck was taken by helicopter to Albany Medical Center, while his 1-year-old son suffered minor facial injuries, Meybaum said.

Police believe all those involved were properly restrained, Meybaum said, and a state police accident reconstruction team is working to determine the cause of the crash. No tickets were issued pending the outcomes of that investigation, Meybaum said.
