Colgate upsets tops seed Clarkson

POTSDAM — The last time a No. 1 seed failed to reach the semifinals was Clarkson in 2001, when it lost to 10th-seeded Vermont in three games in the first round.



History repeated itself Sunday night at Cheel Arena, and the Golden Knights won’t be defending their ECAC Hockey tournament title.



David McIntyre scored his second goal of the game 7:36 into the second overtime, lifting eighth-seeded Colgate to a stunning 3-2 victory over the Golden Knights to win their ECAC Hockey tournament quarterfinal series, 2-1.
