Glens Falls announces events for centennial

GLENS FALLS — The City of Glens Falls is celebrating its centennial with a variety of events. The March schedule includes:

-- A birthday party celebrating 100 years as a chartered city: Thursday at the Queensbury Hotel from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The party is free.

-- Kevin and Katie McKrell in concert: Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Folklife Center of Crandall Library. The free show is part of a centennial concert series.

-- “Windows on the Adirondacks,” an artists’ works unveiling at the Queensbury Hotel: Thursday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Queensbury Hotel. An open house and public viewing will be held from 6 until 8 p.m.

-- “Building Blocks of a Community: 100 Years of Commerce in Glens Falls,” a photo exhibit at the Chapman Historical Museum, 348 Glen St. The exhibit opens Thursday at 5:30 p.m.; people will be able to view photos of the exhibit’s first part, “Manufacturing and Commerce,” until 7:30 p.m. The exhibit will remain open through Aug. 17.

-- “The Photography of Richard Dean” presented by Dean’s grandson, Mark Bowie: Wednesday, March 26, at 7 p.m. at City Hall’s Common Council Chambers.

-- Sara Milonovich and Greg Anderson in concert: Thursday, March 27 at 7 p.m. at the Folklife Center at Crandall Library. Admission is free.
