Michelle Smith leaving CBS 6

NISKAYUNA — WRGB anchorwoman Michelle Smith will work her last broadcasts for the television station tonight. Smith, who joined CBS 6 as an anchor-reporter in April 2007, has decided to resign as she prepares for the birth of her second child. “She was planning to go out on a medical leave and is having some minor complications,” said CBS 6 News Director Lisa Jackson, “but the doctor ordered her out of work for the remainder of her pregnancy. After thinking about it and thinking about working while taking care of not one but two kids, she’s decided the best thing to do is just go ahead and resign. That’s what she’s decided to do, she’s going to stay home with the kids.” Smith’s husband, Morgan Hook, left CBS 6 earlier this year for a job in state government.
