SCHENECTADY — St. Clare’s Hospital will stop accepting inpatient, critical care, pediatric and maternity cases Monday as part of itsconsolidation with Ellis and Bellevue hospitals, officials announced this morning.

The transition will continue through June 20. St. Clare’s Emergency Department will remain open throughout the transition and after June 20. Ellis’ Emergency Department will also remain open.

After June 20, Ellis will handle all critical care, inpatient pediatric care and medical-surgical inpatient care, including stroke and cardiac care, that had been handled at St. Clare’s. Bellevue Woman’s Care Center, formerly Bellevue Hospital, will handle obstetric and gynecological services, including maternity services, that St. Clare’s once accepted.

St. Clare’s will be called the McClellan Campus following the transition. It will continue to offer a outpatient services, including day surgery, medical imaging, sleep disorder care, primary and dental care, laboratory services, wound care, infusion therapy and physical and rehabilitation services.
