— An 18-year-old man faces an attempted murder charge for allegedly shooting at a man on Wednesday morning.

Police said Julio A. Lewis of 949 State St. fired shots at a 23-year-old city man on Union Avenue at about 10:40 a.m.

Lewis allegedly confronted the man over an incident the two were involved in nearly two months ago. The targeted man was not injured.

Union College security officers found the man on Seward Place near South avenue.

Police arrested Lewis after the shooting when the vehicle he attempted to flee in was stopped by Schenectady County Sheriff’s deputies on Eastern Avenue. Officers recovered a loaded .45-caliber handgun believed to be the weapon used. The gun was reported stolen earlier this year in Niskayuna, according to police.

Lewis faces charges of attempted second-degree murder, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Lewis was being held in the Schenectady lockup pending arraignment this morning.
