— Fire destroyed a tanning salon and badly damaged a Dunkin Donuts early this morning.

Fire Chief Mike Fowler said the cause of the blaze is being investigated by the Saratoga County Fire Coordinator's office.

"It looks like the fire started in the rear of the tanning salon near the corner of Lake Hill Road and Route 50," Fowler said. "The salon is a total loss, and the Dunkin Donuts and a hair and nail salon received significant water and smoke damage."

He said firefighters were called to the scene about 11:30 p.m. Thursday and were assisted by Ballston Lake, Charlton and East Glenville Fire Departments until about 4 a.m.

"I would say we had it under control at about 1 [a.m.], but we were there for another three hours before it was completely out," Fowler said.
