Weekend tournament anglers once again proved that there are plenty of big bass in local waters.
The Northeast Team Bass partners’ second open event of the season on the Great Sacandaga Lake attracted a field of 71 teams, all hoping to earn a share of the $9,230 purse.
Leading the way was last year’s NTB Anglers of the Year team of Jeff Russell of Malta and Dan Dwyer of Saratoga Springs. Their six-smallmouth bass limit totaling 13.15 pounds earned them first-place cash of $2,550.
