Amsterdam man jailed after drug raid

AMSTERDAM — A man is behind bars after police raided his Minaville Street home Wednesday night.

City police Det. Lt. Thomas DiMezza said city and state police raided a house at 96 Minaville St. about 9 p.m. to culminated a two-month investigation into the sales and distribution of marijuana. DiMezza said police seized a small quantity of marijuana and paraphernalia and charged Joseph Duffy Jr., 20, with third-degree criminal sale of marijuana, a felony. Duffy is being held pending arraignment this morning in City Court.
