Democratic candidate Tracey Brooks has passed the half-million dollar mark in fundraising in the campaign to replace retiring U.S. Rep. Michael McNulty.
In a news release this morning, the Brooks campaign said the former aide to U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton has raised about $502,000 over the entire campaign, including $102,000 in the latest Federal Elections Commission reporting period, which ran from July 1 to Aug. 20.
Brooks' numbers were not yet posted this morning on the FEC Web site at www.fec.gov, but the numbers reported in her news release outdistanced those of the candidates whose latest reports are listed. Democratic challengers Phil Steck and Paul Tonko reported total fundraising of $355,212 and $250,916, respectively, as of Aug. 20, while Republican James Buhrmaster reported total contributions of $167,809.
Updated reports were not available this morning for Democratic candidates Darius Shahinfar and Joseph Sullivan and Republican challenger Steven Vasquez.
