John "Jack" McEneny

Party affiliation: Democratic.

Age: 65.

Residence: Albany.

Family: Widower with four children and a granddaughter.

Education: Bachelor's degree in history from Siena College; professional certificates in community development and public administration from New Mexico State University and Harvard University.

Professional experience: Caseworker, Albany County Department of Social Services; counselor and director of the Albany County Neighborhood Youth Corps; director of manpower planning, director of public employment programs and commissioner of human resources for the city of Albany, 1971-84; directed the 1980 U.S. Census for the four-county Capital District; director of the State Urban Cultural Parks Program (now known as Heritage Areas) administered by the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, 1985-89; assistant Albany County executive, 1989-91; chief of staff to Assemblyman Richard Conners, 1992-93. Wrote and narrated WMHT Public Television's Tricentennial Documentary on Albany and authored “Albany, Capital City on the Hudson.”

Political experience: Albany County Legislature, 1991-93; New York State Assembly (104th District), 1993-present.

Terrence O'Neill

Education: Bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of Connecticut,; law degree from Albany Law School.

Professional experience: Ship's navigator, U.S. Navy, 1974-78; counsel to Assemblyman Edward Griffith, 1984-86 and 1997-2000; senior attorney with New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services Bureau for Municipal Police, 1986-88; special assistant to state director of criminal justice, 1998-94.
