Scott and Beverly Hobbs of Rotterdam announce
the engagement of their son Ian Hobbs
to Shannon Christopher, daughter of Tom and
Debbie Christopher of Saratoga Springs, NY.
Ian is the grandson of Harley and Patricia
Hobbs and Victor and Nancy Benson. Shannon
is the granddaughter of Tom and Mary Christopher,
Sandy and Al Pinto and William and
The future bride is employed by Time Warner
Cable. Her fiance is employed by the NYS Dept.
A May 2015 wedding is being planned.
Kathrine Rose Alston and Glen Alan Premo
were married February 17, 2013 at the Jacksonville
Golf and Country Club in Jacksonville,
FL. A reception followed. Matt Williams officiated.
They went to the Daytona 500 on their
Kathrine is the daughter of Wes Alston of California
and Judy and Doug Haproff of New Mexico.
Glen is the son of Bruce Premo of Ballston
Lake, and Wendy Smith of Ballston Spa.
The groom graduated from the Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical College in Daytona, FL. He is a
lieutenant in the US Navy employed as a naval
aviator, stationed in Atsugi, Japan.
The bride graduated from the University of
Florida in Jacksonville, FL and is currently a
housewife in Atsugi, Japan.
Barbara M. and Joseph E. Czaban Sr. of
Burnt Hills recently celebrated their 60th wedding
anniversary with a dinner party, hosted by
their daughter and friends. They were married
June 20, 1953 at St. Adalbert Cathtolic Church,
The former Barbara Brodzinski graduated
from Mont Pleasant High School and SUNY
Albany. Her husband graduated from Nott Terrace
High School and Union College.
Their children are Paula, Joseph and Christopher.
Their grandchildren are Elizabeth Rose,
Troy, Nicole, William and Jennifer.
Raymond and Jean (LeVinus) Englehart of
Schenectady recently celebrated their 72nd
wedding anniversary. They were married May
29, 1941 in Mechanicville, NY.
Jean is a housewife and past state officer and
member of Rebekah Lodge, Rotterdam Lore’s
and Rotterdam Seniors.
Raymond retired in 1982 from Schenectady
International. He is a Purple Heart Recipient
from the US Army-World War II. He is a member
of the Disabled American Veteran’s, Odd Fellows,
NY., Schenectady Lions Club, Rotterdam
Elks and the Rotterdam Seniors.
Their children are Albert (Diann), Princetown,
NY; Raymond (Darlene), Rotterdam, NY;
and Richard of Latham, NY. They also have six
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Raymond and Jean enjoy going to Saratoga
Racino and spending time with family.
Robert and Barbara (George) Noble of Glenville,
NY recently celebrated their 65th wedding
anniversary with a family dinner at the couple’s
home, given by their children and grandchildren.
They were married at the bride’s home in
Syracuse, NY on June 5, 1948.
Barbara attended Houghton College. She
was a library aide at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake
Schools. She enjoys quilting, knitting and travel.
Her husband served in the U. S. Navy. He attended
Houghton College and graduated from
Syracuse University and Ithaca College. He
was a guidance counselor at Scotia-Glenville
Schools. He enjoys playing the trumpet.
Their children are Cynthia (Larry) Sayler of
Greenville, IL, Katherine Noble of Glenville, NY,
Robert (Holly) Noble of Glenville, NY, Nancy
(Daniel) Olson of Bend, OR and Susan (Martin)
Benoit of Glenville, NY. They have 11 grandchildren
and eight great-grandchildren.
