Engagement: Alston and Premo

Doug and Judy Haproff of Aztec, NM announce
the engagement of their daughter Kathrine
Rose Alston to Lt. Glen Alan Premo, son of
Wendy Smith of Ballston Spa, NY and Bruce J.
Premo of Ballston Lake, NY.
The future bride is a graduate of Hemets
High School, CA., and Florida State College.
She received an honorable discharge after serving
12 years in the U.S. Navy.
Her fiance is a graduate of Burnt Hills-
Ballston Lake High School and Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical College, Daytona, FL, with a bachelor’s
degree in aeronautics. He is a lieutenant
in the U.S. Navy, currently serving as a tailhook
aviator flying C-2 aircraft, based in Atsugi, Japan.
Kathrine and Glen will be married in February
2013 in Jacksonville, FL and will return to
Japan after their wedding to serve our country
two more years in Atsugi.

Wedding: Howie and Young

Mindy Howie and Stephen Young of Clifton
Park were married on Sept. 22 at the Crossings
of Colonie. Judge Norman C. Massry officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Arthur and Linda
Howie of Milton. She has a bachelor’s degree
from Russell Sage College and works as a copy
editor and page designer at The Daily Gazette.
The groom is the son of Joseph and Virginia
Young of Queens. He has bachelor’s and master’s
degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
and is a software developer for the state
Department of Taxation and Finance.
The bride’s honor attendants were Sarah
Ciuryla of Tucson, Ariz., Shannon Oksman of
the Bronx and SarahBeth Votra of Tully. The
groom’s honor attendant was his sister, Jennifer
Pizzimenti of Morris Township, N.J., and
his groomsmen were Gene Chen of San Jose,
Calif., Daniel Guzman of Saugerties and Jeffrey
Young of San Jose, Calif., the groom’s brother.
The flower bearers were the groom’s nephew
and niece, Michael and Vivienne Pizzimenti.
A reception was held following the ceremony
at the Hilton Garden Inn in Clifton Park.

Wedding: Premo and McCarthy

Julie Michelle Premo and James Peter Mc-
Carthy were married April 21, 2012 at Our Lady
Star of the Sea, Ponte Verde, FL. MNSR Logan
officiated. A reception followed at Ponte Vedra
Inn & Club.
The bride is the daughter of Bruce J. Premo
of Ballston Lake and Wendy A. Smith of Ballston
Spa. The groom is the son of James and
Anne McCarthy of Rockville, MD.
The bride is a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston
Lake High School. She is a housewife.
Her husband is a graduate of Xavier University.
He is president of Tennant & Russell LLC in
Jacksonville, FL.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Aruba.
They reside in Jacksonville, FL.

Anniversary: Stachewicz

Ben and Helene (Borysewicz) Stachewicz of
Rotterdam recently celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary, renewing their vows at Our
Lady Queen of Peace Church, with Father David
Hammond as celebrant. A dinner party at
The Water’s Edge Lighthouse followed, given by
their children.
The couple were married September 2, 1962
at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Schenectady.
Helene graduated from Mont Pleasant High
School. She is a retired LPN. She worked at Ellis
Hospital, worked for Dr. Daniel J. Rourke and
retired from Glendale Home in 2000. Her husband
is a graduate of Draper High School and
served in the Navy Reserves. He retired from
G.E. as a steamfitter, after 33 years of service.
Their children are Darlene and Kevin Stott of
Ravena, NY, Karen (and the late Kevin) Curry
of Rotterdam, NY and Rachel and Angel Rodriquez
of Long Island, NY.
Their grandchildren are Meghan and Lauren
Alexander of Rotterdam, David and Ben Andrews
of Ravena and Annie and Alex Rodriquez
of Long Island.
