Engagement: Smith and Hoffman

Larry and Jean Smith of Ballston Lake announce
the engagement of their daughter Marjorie
Grace Smith to Scott Hoffman, son of Bill
and Kim Hoffman of Medina, NY.
The future bride is a graduate of Burnt Hills-
Ballston Lake High School and Nazareth College.
She is a registered nurse at Strong Memorial
Her fiance is a graduate of Medina High
School and Ithaca College. He earned his masters
degree from SUNY Fredonia. He is a music
teacher in the Bloomfield School District.
An October 2012 wedding is planned.

Engagement: Czubernat and Martin

Kelsey Czubernat and Shane Martin have
announced their engagement. Kelsey is the
daughter of Lindy Sue Czubernat of Glenville
and Peter Czubernat of Schenectady. She is
the granddaughter of William and Carol Frenz
of Charlton, NY and Jean Audy of Galway, NY
and the late Robert Czubernat. Shane is the son
of Bill and Maureen Martin of Sodus, NY. and
grandson of Jack and Marilyn Stark of Clearwater,
The future bride is a graduate of Burnt Hills-
Ballston Lake High School and SUNY Delhi.
She is a veterinary technician at Lollypop Farm,
Humane Society of Greater Rochester.
Her fiance is a graduate of Sodus Central
High School and SUNY Delhi. He is chef manager
for Lackman Culinary Services.
A Spring 2013 wedding is planned in Saratoga.

Engagement: Dougherty and DiDiego

Charles and Palma Dougherty of Guilderland
announce the engagement of their daughter
Meghan Dougherty to Juan DiDiego, son of Dr.
Jose Maria DiDiego and Maria Carmen DiDiego
of New Hartford, NY.
The future bride has a bachelor’s degree in
childhood education and a master’s degree in
special education, grades 1-6 from The College
of Saint Rose. She is employed by the NYS Department
of Labor.
Her fiance is a graduate of SUNY Oneonta,
where he received his bachelor’s degree in computer
art with web focus. He is a front-end web
developer at HANYS (Health Care Association
of NYS).
The couple are planning a June 2012 wedding
and a honeymoon in Disney World.

Engagement: Skiff and Urso Jr.

Robert and Lynn Skiff Jr., of Ballston Lake
announce the engagement of their daughter,
Sara Lynn Skiff to Angelo Daniel Urso Jr., son of
Angelo and Darlene Urso Sr., of Long Island.
The future bride is a graduate of the State
University Institute of Technology, Utica. She is
an R.N. at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, NY.
Her fiance is a graduate of Albany Law
School. He is a contract attorney for Guardian
City Group.
An April 19, 2013 wedding is planned at The
Watermill, Long Island, NY.

Engagement: Drindak and Catallo

Noel and Mary Drindak of Burnt Hills announce
the engagement of their daughter Jennifer
Drindak to Merico (Mike) Catallo, son of
Joseph and Carmela Catallo of Waterford, NY.
The future bride is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo,
where she received her bachelor’s degree
and earned her master’s degree from Towson
University, MD. She is an elementary school
teacher in the Shenendehowa Central School
Her fiance is a graduate of Hudson Valley
Community College, where he received his associate’s
degree. He is a machine tool work inspector
at the Watervliet Arsenal.
A February 2013 wedding is planned.

Anniversary: DeSimone

George and Lucille (Cappiello) DeSimone of
Schenectady recently celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary at a private dinner party, given
by their daughters and their spouses. Elaine
(Cappiello) Monteparo (Joe), maid of honor at
their wedding and best man Nicholas DeSimone
(Ellen) attended the celebration. Lucille’s
mother, Mary Z. Cappiello, widow of Constante
F. Cappiello also attended.
The couple were married November 1, 1961
at St. Columba’s Church, Schenectady.
Lucille attended St. Columba’s and graduated
from the Academy of the Holy Names. She
is a retired LPN, currently working per diem at
Ellis Wound Care Center.
Her husband is a graduate of Draper High
School and was a Navy Reserve trainee in high
school. He retired as a supervisor from the NYS
Assembly Office of Automated Data.
Their children are Lisa (Carlos) DeSousa of
Schenectady, Yvonne (Paul) Calkins of Rotterdam
and Erik DeSimone of Florida. They are
also the grandparents of Vanessa DeSousa of
NYC, Anthony DeSousa of Schenectady and
Janelle Calkins and Nicole Calkins of Rotterdam.
The couple will be taking a trip to Atlantic City
and Cape May.

Anniversary: Viscusi

Tony and Joan Viscusi of Glenville, NY, recently
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary
with a renewal of their vows along with 85
of their family and friends at the Stockade Inn in
Schenectady, NY.
The party was given by their children, while
their grandchildren, McKenzie Chainyk walked
them down the aisle, and Aydia Krizan and
Devin Viscusi were flower girl and ring bearer,
encouraged by less than one year old granddaughter,
Aria Viscusi.
Tony and Joan are both graduates of Mont
Pleasant High School, and married March 4,
1962 at St. Anthony’s in Schenectady, NY. While
sweethearts from an early age, they have grown
to represent the meaning of true love, dedication,
and respect for all of those who know and
love them.
Tony and Joan have not only shown their children,
grandchildren, and many family members
what marriage means in this day and age, but
they are leaders within the Marriage Encounter
community, embracing and guiding couples for
over 30 years, enhancing and enriching many,
many lives.
They are also the proud owners of Top Hat
Entertainment, which is a local group of dancers
and singers who travel the capital district inspiring
and bringing happiness and life enrichment
to the elderly community.
50 years of love is truly an inspiration to all,
especially those who know Tony and Joan. They
continue to instill the meaning of values and
commitment in their children, grandchildren,
sisters, cousins, and community. All who know
them cherish all they represent and look forward
to many more years of love.
