Engagement: Blackstone and Hooker

Mr. and Mrs. Phillip E. Blackstone are pleased
to announce the engagement of their daughter
Kathleen Marie Blackstone to Nick Anthony
Kathleen Blackstone is a graduate of Schalmont
High School. She attended Schenectady
County Community College. Kathleen is employed
by MVP Healthcare in Schenectady as an
account coordinator in MVP’s Sales and Marketing
Nick Hooker is the son of Janet Hooker and
the late Michael Bethea. He is a graduate of Lee
Senior High School in Sanford, NC and joined
the United States Army. Nick graduated from
Strayer University with a bachelors degree in
computer information services. He is currently
employed by Xerox Litigation Services in Albany,
New York.
A September 7, 2012 wedding at Glen Sanders
Mansion is being planned.

Wedding: Myers and Tuczynski

Leslie E. Myers and David H. Tuczynski were
married June 4, 2011 at Calvary Heights Baptist
Church in Elma, NY. Pastor Kevin Kabel offi ciated.
A reception followed at Fairdale Banquet
Hall in Amherst, NY.
The bride is the daughter of Stephen G.
and Marianne E. Myers of Orchard Park, NY.
The groom is the son of David M. Tuczynski of
Cheektawaga, NY and Debbie M. Mattingly of
Lackawanna, New York.
Matron of honor was Maria Nagle. Bridesmaids
were Jamie Morawski and Louise Steigler.
Junior bridesmaid was Jenna Tuczynski.
Best man was Brian Tuczynski. Ushers were
Jon Bebee, Stephen Myers Jr., and Joshua Myers.
Leslie, formerly of Scotia is a graduate of Daemen
College, with a bachelor’s degree and the
University of Phoenix, where she received her
master’s degree. She was a special education
teacher at Barksdale Elementary School, Clarksville,
TN and is currently seeking employment as
a teacher.
Her husband is a graduate of Erie County
Community College, where he received his associate’s
degree. He is lead carpenter at KAZ
Companies in West Seneca, NY.
The couple took a wedding trip to the Thousand
Islands. They reside in Lackawanna.

Anniversary: Quinn

James and Cheryl Quinn of Galway recently
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at
Pops Lake Campsite in the Town of Providence
with a band playing and a pig roast with family
and friends. The party was given by their sons.
The couple were married April 16, 1961 at St.
Joseph’s Catholic Church, Broadalbin.
Cheryl graduated from Galway Central High
School. She is retired and enjoys arts and crafts.
Her husband graduated from Galway Central
High School and served 8 years in the Army Reserve.
He is retired and enjoys wood cutting.
Their children are James D. Quinn of Broadalbin
and Kenny Quinn of Rock City Falls. Their
grandchildren are Amanda Duket and Hollie
Quinn of Galway; Dustin Quinn, Kendel Quinn
and Briana Quinn, all of Rock City Falls. They
also have four great–grandchildren.
