Engagement: Foley and Bell

Michael and Nancy Foley of Saratoga Springs
announce the engagement of their daughter
Erin Elizabeth Foley, to Stephen Matthew Bell,
son of Albert and Theresa Bell of Clifton Park.
The future bride is a graduate of Burnt Hills-
Ballston Lake class of 2003, Bucknell University,
where she graduated magna cum laude in 2007
with a degree in chemical engineering and the
University of Southern California, where she
earned her master’s degree in education. She
is a high school chemistry/physics teacher in the
Saratoga Springs City School District.
Her fi ance is a graduate of Shenendehowa
High School and Siena College, where he
earned his degrees in computer science and
business. He is an IT assistant network administrator
for Stewart’s Shops and owner of Jazzy
Entertainment Disc Jockey Service.
An October 2012 wedding is planned.

Engagement: Majak and Akins

Stan and Karen Majak of Niskayuna announce
the engagement of their daughter Samantha
Majak to Aaron Akins, son of John and
Cynthia Akins of Rome, NY.
The future bride is a graduate of Niskayuna
High School, Western New England College
and the University at Albany graduate program.
She is a clinical social worker at Westbridge
Academy in New Jersey.
Her fiance is a graduate of Rome Free Academy
and The Rochester Institute of Technology.
He is a senior program accountant in NYC.
A May 2012 wedding is planned.

Wedding: Bergner and Peters

Lauren Jill Bergner and John Theodore
Peters were married on Saturday, November
12, 2011, at half past fi ve in evening, in the Colonnade
Room at The Fairmont Hotel in Washington,
District of Columbia. Judge Christine O.
C. Miller, of the United States Court of Federal
Claims, officiated. A reception and dinner dance
followed the ceremony. The bride’s mother, Jane
Cohen Bergner, formerly resided in Schenectady,
as did the bride’s maternal grandparents,
Louis Cohen, M.D. and Selma Breslaw Cohen,
both of whom are deceased.
The bride is a Regional Manager in New York
City for ForeSee Results, a market researchfi rm
based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She graduated,
cum laude, from Amherst College and received
a master’s degree in international affairs from
Columbia University. She is the daughter of
Jane Cohen Bergner and the late Alfred Paul
Bergner of Bethesda, Maryland. The bride’s
mother, a former chair of the District of Columbia
Bar Taxation Section, has her own law practice
in the District of Columbia, the Law Offices of
Jane C. Bergner. Her late father, also a tax attorney,
practiced law with his wife prior to his death
in 2002.
The groom is the Vice President for Sales
for JewelAmerica, a design and manufacturing
company for fine diamond and gemstone
jewelry. He graduated from Hofstra University
and also received GIA certificates in diamonds,
gemstones, pearls and diamond and gemstone
grading. He is the son of John M. Peters and
Evangelia Lee Peters of Jupiter, Florida. His father
is Vice President for Global Sales for Roebic
International, Inc., of Orange, Connecticut and
Jupiter, Florida. His mother is a Customer Service
Information Representative for St. Mary’s
Medical Center, of West Palm Beach, Florida.
The couple honeymooned in Phuket and
Bangkok, Thailand. They now reside in New
York, New York. The bride is retaining her maiden

Wedding: Jorgenson and Burnett

Greg Thomas Burnett and Samantha Nicole
Jorgenson were married on October 9, 2011 at
The Sanctuary At Admiral in Seattle WA. Greg
is the son of Katherine Burnett, Amsterdam, NY
and the late Thomas Burnett. Samantha is the
daughter of Debra Mondares, Mill Creek, WA.
and the late Amor Mondares.
Maid of honor was Angela Wright of Woodinville,
Washington. Bridesmaid was Jenna Stjern
of Snohomish, Washington. Junior bridesmaid
was Hannah Jorgenson, daughter of the bride,
from Seattle, WA.
Best man was Jason Burnett, brother of the
groom, from Waltham, MA. Groomsmen were
Michael Keys, from Saratoga Springs, NY and
Riley Seward, son of the bride from Seattle, WA.
Greg is a graduate of Daemen College, Amherst,
NY. He is a multi clinic physical therapy
director. Samantha is a graduate of Washington
State University. She is a regional sales director
with Holiday Retirement.
Greg and Samantha live in Seattle, Washington.

Anniversary: Hollister

Richard and Patricia (Giella) Hollister of
Schenectady recently celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary at the Stockade Inn, with a dinner
party hosted by their children, Christopher
and Jan Hollister and Lisa and Daniel Thomas.
The couple were married November 18, 1961
at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Schenectady.
