Amanda Christine Celentano
to Andrew Charles Backowski,
son of Mark and Nancy Backowski
of Chesapeake, VA.
Amanda is the granddaughter
of Mike and Ellen Celentano
and Patricia Gioia. Andrew is
the grandson Katie Hanlon.
The future bride is a graduate
of Schenectady High School
and Keene State College, NH.,
with a bachelor’s degree in
health science. She is a recreation
supervisor on the Naval
base in Norfolk, VA.
Her fi ance attended Schenectady
High School and Oscar
Smith High School in Chesapeake,
VA. He is pursuing a
bachelor’s degree in emergency
management at Hampton
University. He is a fi refi ghter
paramedic at the Norfolk Naval
Base, VA.
An August 4, 2012 wedding is
being planned.


BYRNE-MAZZONE
Engagement: Byrne and Mazzone

Daniel and Vikki Mazzone
of Glenville announce the engagement
of their son, Nicholas
Daniel Mazzone to Maureen
Byrne, daughter of John and
Judith Byrne of Manasquan,
NJ. Nicholas is the grandson of
Louis and Gloria Mazzone of
Rotterdam.
The future bride is a graduate
of Bentley College with a
BS degree in economics and
fi nance and a MBA with concentration
in accounting. She
is employed as a risk assurance
specialist with PricewaterhouseCoopers,
in Boston, MA.
Her fi ance is a 1999 graduate
of Niskayuna High School and
received his BS and master degrees
in accounting from Bentley
College. He is a certifi ed
public accountant, employed
as an audit manager for BDO,
Boston, MA.
The proposal took place on
the beach in Manasquan, NJ on
November 28, 2010.
An October 2011 wedding is
planned.

Scott and Catherine Walroth
of Niskayuna are pleased to

Shawn Mead-Gluchacki, son of

Miss Walroth graduated
summa cum laude from Potsdam
College with a BFA in
studio art and art history. She
earned her NYS teacher certifi -
cation in art from St. Lawrence
University. She is an artist with
a graphic design fi rm in Syracuse.
Her fi ance graduated magna
cum laude from Potsdam College
with both a BA and MA
in mathematics. He has been
awarded a fellowship with
Syracuse University, where he
is pursuing a PhD in mathematics.
A summer 2012 wedding is
planned.

Kelly Boylan and David Wolf
have announced their engagement.
Kelly is the daughter of
Sean and Deborah Boylan of
Brewster, NY. David is the son
of Richard and Frances Wolf of
Scotia.
The future bride is a 2008
graduate of Bucknell University,
where she received her
bachelor’s degree in elementary
education. She is currently
pursuing her master’s degree
in teaching English as a second
language from Manhattanville
College. Kelly is an elementary
ESL Teacher in NYC.
Her fi ance is a 2007 graduate
of Bucknell University, where
he received his bachelor’s degree
in mechanical engineering
and Penn State University
in 2009, where he earned his
master’s degree in mechanical
engineering. He is a mechanical
engineer in Pomona, NY.
A May 2012 wedding is
planned.


STEVEN WERTALIK LAUREN CLARK
Wedding: Clark and Wertalik

Lauren Katherine Clark and
Steven Michael Wertalik were
united in marriage on Oct. 23,
2010, at Sorrel River Ranch Resort
in Moab, Utah. A reception
followed. The ceremony was
performed by David Sakrison,
mayor of Moab. Music was performed
by Stephen Clare, uncle
of the bride.
The bride is the daughter
of Anthony and Mary Clark of
Ohio. The bridegroom is the
son of Dr. Louis Wertalik of
Clifton Park and Elaine Wertalik
of Niskayuna.
Matron of honor was Jamie
Updike Straw of CO. Bridesmaids
were Sarah Smith of NC,
Brooke Hontz of UT, and Jaime
Grimm Rice of OH.
Best man was Michael Salzman
of NH. Local groomsmen
were Brandon Querbes, Bill
Querbes, Mark McKee, Louis
John Wertalik, brother of the
bridegroom, and Jon Weidenhamer
of UT. Ushers were
Zachary Clark and Adam Clark,
brothers of the bride. The ringbearer
was Anthony “T-Ray”
Clark, nephew of the bride.
Lauren is a 2002 graduate of
St. Ursula Academy, and a 2005
graduate of Ohio University,
where she received a bachelor
of specialized studies degree in
sociology and adventure recreation.
She is admissions counselor
for The Oakley School in
Oakley, UT.
Steven is a 1997 graduate of
Niskayuna High School, and
a 2001 graduate of Quinnipiac
University, Hamden, CT, where
he received a bachelor of science
degree in business. He
is the national accounts sales
manager at The Canyons Resort
in Park City, UT.


ROBERT AND ALICE ROHR 65TH ANNIVERSARY
Anniversary: Rohr

Bob and Alice Rohr celebrated
their 65th wedding anniversary
March 31, 2011. They were
married at Guilford College,
NC in 1946. They raised three
sons and have seven grandchildren.


FRANK AND JANET BRENNAN 60TH ANNIVERSARY
Anniversary: Brennan

Frank and Janet Brennan of
Carman Road, Guilderland,
recently celebrated their 60th
wedding anniversary with a
dinner at the Barnsider Restaurant,
given by their daughter
Lori Billings and her fi -
ance Rick Waterhouse. Frank
and Janet are blessed with
two grandchildren, Stephanie
Purdy (Floyd) and Bryan Billings.
The couple were married
April 14, 1951 at St. Columbus
Church in Schenectady.
The former Janet Pitts was
last employed with General
Electric Co. until her retirement
in 1982 after 30 years. She
previously worked six years at
the Schenectady Army Depot
in Rotterdam.
Her husband Frank was last
employed as a national account
executive for R.M. Sullivan
Trucking Co. of Springfi eld,
MA until his retirement in
2001, after 20 years. He previously
worked 31 years between
Boss Linco Lines and the 3-M
Co.
To continue their celebration,
the couple left on a ten
day Celebrity Cruise for sun
and fun. Both enjoy traveling
and spending time with family
and friends.
