Wedding: Cabrera and Abbott

Bianca Cabrera and Nelson
Abbott were married July 2,
2010. The wedding and reception
were held at the Hall of
Springs, Saratoga. Judge G.
Gerald Fiesinger, Jr., friend of
the family offi ciated.
The bride is the daughter of
Carlos and Regina Cabrera of
Ballston Lake, NY. The groom
is the son of David and Joyce
Abbott of Napa, CA. Bianca is
the granddaughter of Gina De-
Francesco of Schenectady, NY.
Family and friends arrived
from England, Spain, Italy and
Maid of honor was Tania
Cabrera, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Faucett
and Alicia Faucett; cousins
of the bride, Kat Amano and
Jessica Wollinar. The bride
wore a headpiece worn by the
groom’s mother in 1963 and by
his grandmother in 1930.
Best man was Spencer Abbott,
brother of the groom.
Ushers were Carlos B. Cabrera,
brother of the bride; Miguel
Hernandez, brother-in-law of
the bride, Rajeev Joshi and Brian
Wilder. The groom’s cake
was traditional Norwegian
The bride is a graduate of
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High
School, Siena College and New
York University, where she received
her master’s degree in
museum studies. She is registrar
at Tilton Gallery, NY, NY.
Her husband is a graduate
of Vintage High School and
UCLA with a bachelor’s degree
in anthropology. He is a
recruiter for Brooklyn College,
New York.
The couple took a honeymoon
trip to Puerto Rico. They
reside in Brooklyn, NY.

Wedding: Armer and Critchlow

Saralyn Armer and Aaron
Critchlow were married May 8,
2010. The wedding and reception
took place at Birch Hill.
Rev. Dr. Robert Paul offi ciated.
Saralyn is the daughter of
Harry Armer and wife, Laurie
of Ballston Spa and Sylvia
Armer and Brad Johnson of
Schenectady. Aaron is the son
of Steve and Sandra Critchlow
of West Richland, WA.
The bride wore a diamond
white gown with empire cut
organza layered with satin underlining,
a chapel length train
and shoulder length veil.
Maid of honor was Melanie
Armer. Bridesmaids were
Lily Armer, Ellen Armer, Katie
Truesell, Melissa Bergeron,
Andrea Locke and Sarah Landon.
Flowergirl was Hannah
Best man was Noel Paul.
Groomsmen were David Carothers,
Adam Critchlow, Jason
Armer, Mike Locke and Kevin
Landon. Ringbearer was Samuel
The bride is a graduate of
SUNY Plattsburgh. She is a
producer’s assistant at Present
Pictures, West Hollywood, CA.
Her husband is a graduate
of Whitworth University, Spokane,
WA. He is an assistant
director at the Director’s Guild
of America, Los Angeles, CA.

Anniversary: Capra

Sam and Marion (Biancosino)
Capra, formerly of Rotterdam
recently celebrated their
70th wedding anniversary at a
buffet dinner, hosted by their
family at Kingsway Arms Nursing
The couple were married October
20, 1940 at the Church of
Our Lady of the Assumption,
Schenectady, NY. Their son,
Sam Capra Jr., his wife, Ginny
and grandsons Jeffrey and Joseph,
all fl ew in from California
to attend the celebration.

Anniversary: Geier

Edward and Joan Geier of
Rotterdam recently celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary
with their children and grandchildren
in South Yarmouth,
Cape Cod, with a week on the
beach celebration vacation.
The couple were married
June 18, 1960 at the Messiah Lutheran
Church, Rotterdam.
Joan is a graduate of Mont
Pleasant High School. She was
a keypunch operator for General
Electric, retiring in 1994.
She enjoys bowling, knitting,
ceramics and family.
Her husband is a graduate
of Mont Pleasant High School
and served two years in the
army. He was a photo engraver
for the Times Union, retiring
in 1999. He enjoys home improvement,
golfi ng and family.
Their children are Edward
Geier of Long Meadow, MA,
Vicki Grygas of Glenville,
NY, Jeffrey Geier of Guilderland,
NY and Amber Geier of
Rotterdam, NY. They have 15

Anniversary: Gierka

Gene and Helen Gierka of
Schenectady recently celebrated
their 65th wedding anniversary
managing bakery sales, as
they have for the last 25 years
for the Harvest Festival of St.
Adalbert’s Church at the Polish
Community Center in Albany.
They are also celebrating with
a mass at St. Adalbert’s Church.
The couple were married
October 20, 1945 at St. Michael’s
Church, Cohoes. The
former Helen Slivienski retired
from Behr-Manning Company
with 15 years of service. Her husband served in WW
II with the 9th Air Force ETO
and was a member of the 39th
Photo Recon. Squadron, which
fl ew the “P 38 Lightning”, also
known as the F-5. After the service
he gained college entrance
courses from the ICS program
and attended mechanical engineering
& machine design
from RPI night school. He retired
from the Norton Co., with
38 years of service.
They both enjoy boating,
traveling and reading.

Anniversary: De Marco

Paul and Felicia De Marco of
Schenectady recently celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary
with family and friends at
Mallozzi’s Club House, given
by their children.
Paul and Felicia met at the
Marconi Center taking evening
classes to learn English.
They were married on September
4, 1960 by Monsignor Bianco
at St. Anthony’s Church, Schenectady.
They have three sons, Joseph,
Fred and Angelo and
their lovely wives. They have
eight grandchildren and one
Paul retired from General
Electric. Felicia has been a
homemaker since they married.
They are active members
of St. Anthony’s Church since
the late 1950’s.
