Engagement: Greenfield and Cass

Kirk and Sherry Greenfi eld
of Schenectady announce the
engagement of their daughter
Jennifer Greenfi eld to Benjamin
Cass, son of Roberta and
Tom Stock of Greenfi eld, NY.
The future bride is a graduate
of Schenectady High
School and SUNY Plattsburgh,
where she received her bachelor’s
degree and the College of
Saint Rose, where she earned
her master’s degree. She is
employed by Capital Region
Her fi ance is a graduate of
Saratoga Springs High School
and SUNY Cobleskill, with a
bachelor’s degree. He is a web
developer in Saratoga Springs.
The couple have enjoyed
traveling to Ireland and Paris
together. They are planning an
August 6, 2011 wedding.

Engagement: Caracciolo and Savoie

Joe and Carol Caracciolo of
Burnt Hills announce the engagement
of their daughter, Jillian
Caracciolo to Brody Savoie,
son of Reid and Carol Savoie of
Wilbraham, MA. Grandparents
of Jillian are Dorothy and Frank
Blum; Gloria Blum and Millie
Caracciolo. Grandparents
of Brody are Rene and Myrtle
The future bride is a graduate
of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake
High School and Western New
England College, where she received
her BA in psychology.
She earned her master of arts
in I/O psychology from the
University of New Haven.
Her fi ance is a graduate of
Minnechaug Regional High
School and Western New
England College, where he received
a BS degree in business
administration. He is serving
as a Marine Corps Reservist in
Operation Enduring Freedom,
(Afghanistan). He has been a
reservist for fi ve years.

Anniversary: Rakvica

Joseph and Patricia (Quinn)
Rakvica of Scotia recently celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary
at a dinner with their
children and families. They
were married May 7, 1960 at St.
Joseph’s Church, Broadalbin.

Anniversary: Sakacs

Edward and Doreen (Hookway)
Sakacs of Rotterdam recently
celebrated their 65th
wedding anniversary at a luncheon
with family and friends
at the Montcalm Restaurant,
Lake George. The luncheon
was given by their niece Mrs.
Louise Boomer and great-niece
Mrs. Janice Plummer.
The couple were married
April 28, 1945 at St. Peter’s
Episcopal Church, Plymouth,
Doreen graduated from St.
Peter’s High School, England.
She retired from Northeast
Savings Bank in 1985 and enjoys
travel and gambling.
Her husband served in the
U.S. Navy from 1943-1946 as
a Petty Offi cer 2nd Class and
storekeeper. He attended Draper
High School and Edison
Vocational School. He retired
from Sunnyview Hospital in
1989 and enjoys fi shing, gardening,
travel and gambling.
They have several nieces
and nephews, that feel very
fortunate to have them as second
parents. They took them
on many vacations to Maine,
England and the Catskill Game
Eddie and Doreen met during
WWII, The European
Theater of War Organization
(E.T.O.) in Plymouth, England
in 1943. Being teenagers, it was
very diffi cult to get permission
to marry because everyone
was against it. Once married,
Doreen came to America
aboard the S.S. Washington,
that held 2,000 brides and 89
babies. In 1947 Eddie had their
house built, where they reside
