Mary Blake of Gloversville
announces the engagement
of her daughter, Lyndsay Mae
Reed to John Paul Ciejka, son
of William and Susan Ciejka
of Cohoes. Lyndsay is also the
daughter of the late Charles
Reed.
The future bride is a graduate
of Scotia-Glenville High
School (2002). She is currently
enrolled at Hudson Valley
Community College. She is employed
by Empire Blue Cross
Blue Shield, Albany.
Her fi ance is a graduate of
Catholic Central High School
(2000) and Siena College, with
a bachelor’s degree in psychology
(2004). He is an archivist
at the Albany County Hall of
Records.
An October 2010 wedding is
planned.

their daughter, Erica Bucciferro
to Kyle Flanigan, son of
William and Karen Flanigan of
Ocoee, FL. Erica is the granddaughter
of Edward and Fran
Meliosky, Lena and the late Biagio
Bucciferro, Stan and the
late Susan Roszak, the late Don
and Marjorie Schinnerer. Kyle
is the grandson of Joseph and
Celia Alibrandi and Mary Lou
and the late William Flanigan.
The future bride is a 2002
graduate of Mohonasen High
School. She is attending college
as a special education major.
Her fi ance graduated from
West Orange High School, Orlando,
FL in 2003. He is currently
attending college as a
business major.

is an attorney at LaFave, Lattimer
and Stroud, Colonie.
Her fi ance is a graduate of
James Madison High School
in Brooklyn and Schenectady
County Community College,
where he received his AAS
business degree. He is a marine
veteran. He is an offi cer of the
NY State Unifi ed Courts.
A July 2010 wedding is

Christina Noel Tremante and
Michael Jeddie Pelham, Jr. were
married September 6, 2009 at
St. John the Evangelist Church
in Schenectady. Rev. Thomas
Morrette, pastor of St. Joseph’s
Church in Broadalbin, and St.
Francis of Assisi Church in
Northville performed the nuptial
mass and marriage ceremony
for his goddaughter. Deacon
Dominic Buonocore from
St. Paul’s Church in Congers,
New York assisted. A reception
was held at Mallozzi’s Banquet
House in Rotterdam.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Buffardi
of Rotterdam and Mr.
and Mrs. Patrick Tremante of
Schenectady. The groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael
Pelham, Sr. of Scotia.
The bride was attended by
Michelle Buffardi as maid of
honor and Angela Sullivan as
matron of honor. Bridesmaids
were Lara Pelham, Linda Trentini,
Kelly Singsheim, Alexandria
Tremante, Meredith Petralia
and Nicole Singsheim.
Junior bridesmaids were Lindsay
Petralia and Madison Trentini.
Flower girls were Maria
Ditoro and Sophia Trentini.
The best man was Neil Buhrmaster.
Groomsmen were Todd
Sullivan, Michael Buffardi, Jeffrey
Trentini, Timothy Singsheim
and Joseph Ferro. The
junior groomsmen was Alex
Singsheim. Ringbearers were
Patrick Tremante Jr. and Connor
Singsheim.
The bride is a graduate of
Schalmont High School, Union
College, and Albany Law
School. She is an assistant district
attorney for Schenectady
County. Her husband is a graduate
of Scotia-Glenville High
School, attended Hudson Valley
Community College and
graduated from the National
Joint Apprenticeship and Training
School. He is a test operations
electrician for Bechtel at
the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory
in Niskayuna.
The newlyweds reside in
Rotterdam.


MARIO AND JOSEPHINE CHECCA 60TH ANNIVERSARY

Mario and Josephine (Ottavio)
Checca recently celebrated
their 60th wedding
anniversary at a family dinner
party at Mallozzi’s Restaurant,
Schenectady. The party was
hosted by their children. Relatives
traveled from New Mexico,
Massachusetts, Connecticut
and New York State.
The couple were married
November 20, 1949 at St. Michael
the Archangel Church,
Amsterdam.
Their children are Carol
and John Nelson, Pauline
and Bruce Kretser, Charlie
Checca and Amy Hallenbeck.
They have two grandchildren,
Christopher Nelson and Bryce
Kretser.


RALPH AND CATHERINE BOYD 60TH ANNIVERSARY

Ralph and Catherine (Cox)
Boyd of Schenectady recently
celebrated their 60th wedding
anniversary renewing their
vows at First Baptist Church,
Schenectady. The couple were
married June 18, 1950 at Friendship
Baptist Church.
Catherine graduated from
Nott Terrace High School and
attended NYU. She retired
from The Schenectady School
District after 25 years of service.
She enjoys spending time
with her grandchildren, traveling,
walking, reading and volunteering.
Ralph graduated from Frederick
Douglas High School,
Baltimore, MD and attended
Morgan State University. He
served in the 366th Infantry
and received the Distinguished
Service Award. He
also received the G.E. Phillippe
Award for distinguished public
service and the honorary
title of Schenectady Patroon
was bestowed on him. He retired
from G.E. in 1982, with
35 years of service, as a supervisor
in the Turbine Dept. He
enjoys spending time with his
grandchildren and is passionate
about volunteering.
The couple have one son,
Ralph F. Boyd Jr., wife Angela
and fi ve grandchildren, all of
Laytonsville, MD.


CLAUDE AND JUDY WEBB 50TH ANNIVERSARY

Claude and Judy (Weightman)
Webb of Scotia, recently
celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary at a party with
family and friends at Canali’s
Restaurant. The party was given
by their children. They took
a trip to Arizona and Las Vegas
following the party.
The couple were married
April 23, 1960 at Sacred Heart
Church, Schenectady.
Judy is a 1958 graduate of
Mont Pleasant High School.
She worked for the State and
retired from Campbell Plastics,
after 19 years of service.
Her husband is a 1957 graduate
of Nott Terrace High
School. He served four years in
the Navy and retired from Niagara
Mohawk after 32 years of
service.
Their children are Gary and
Aneta Webb, Barbara Lee, Michele
Webb and Kathy and Bob
Servidone. They also have five
grandchildren.
