John and Janet Rohan of Clifton Park, NY are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Lynn Rohan to Donald Eugene Moore III, son of Patricia and Stephen Graham of Yorklyn, DE and Donald E. Moore II of New Holland, PA.
The future bride is a graduate of Shenendehowa High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the University at Albany, after which she was employed as a staff photographer at the Daily Gazette 1997-2000. She received her master’s degree from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and is currently a photo editor at the Star Ledger Newspaper in Newark, New Jersey.
Her fiance, a graduate of Coatsville High School, PA., attended the University of Delaware and is presently a business analyst for Citigroup in Newark, DE.
An October 11, 2009 wedding is planned at the State Room in Albany, NY.
Kelley M. Black and were married December 20, 2008 at Mount Airy Mansion, Upper Marlboro, MD. A reception followed.
The bride is the daughter of Bruce and Gail Black of Waldorf, MD. The groom is the son of Ellen Brown of Ballston Lake and the late Donald Brown.
Maid of honor was Laura Black. Flowergirl was Alexandra Black. Best man was Bryan Brown.
Kelley is a graduate of Maurice J. McDonough High School and the US Coast Guard Academy. She is a shipboard engineer in the US Coast Guard in Mobile, AL.
Robert is a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School and the US Coast Guard Academy. He is an aviator with the US Coast Guard in Pensacola, Florida.
Laura Follain and Justin Sturdevant were married May 24, 2009 at Riverstone Manor. A reception followed.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Follain of Niskayuna. The groom is the son of Mr. David Sturdevant of Marathon, NY and Mrs. Tammy Sansky of Endicott, NY.
Maid of honor was Jacqueline Follain, sister of the bride. Flowergirl was Jillian McMartin, niece of the bride.
Best man was Eric Mastrogiovani, childhood friend of groom. Ringbearer was Cameron Sturdevant, nephew of the groom.
The families of both the bride and groom, distant and near were present and had a wonderful time.
Bill and Lynn Rank of Ballston Lake recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a garden party at the couple’s cottage on Harvey’s Lake in West Barnet, VT with friends and relatives from, CT, MA, CA, NY and VT. The party was hosted by their daughter Judy Elizabeth Vanderhook.
The couple were married September 24, 1944 at Maxwell Field U.S. Air Force Base Chapel, Montgomery, AL.
The former Marilyn Field graduated from New Britain High School and Simmons College, Boston. She is a retired nutritionist. She enjoys cooking, dancing, bridge and gardening.
Her husband is a graduate of Little Falls High School and Northeastern University, Boston. He was an officer and pilot in the U.S. Air Force in WWII serving in China, Burma and India Theatre of the War. He retired as a manager at General Electric Co. He enjoys golf, dancing, bridge, puzzles and flying gliders.
Their children are Judy Vanderhook of West Hills, CA and James Rank of Austin, TX. Their grandchildren are Shelby and Kaitlyn Rank of Austin, TX, Michael Vanderhook of Canoga Park, CA and Elizabeth Vanderhook Uhrig of Santa Barbara, CA. They also have two great-grandchildren Jenica and Alyssa.
