Burgess-Hoshko
Engagement: Burgess and Hoshko

Vicki Hoshko and Richard Hoshko, both of Schenectady announce the engagement of their son Benjamin Alan Hoshko to, Emily Joy Burgess, daughter of Kelly and Becky Burgess of Smith Center, KS. Benjamin is the grandson of William and Shirley Smith of Venice, FL. Emily is the granddaughter of Ivan and Laura Burgess of Smith Center, KS and Clarence and Willa Hendrich of Portis, KS.
The future bride is a graduate of Jewell High School, KS. Her fiance is a graduate of Schenectady High School and received his associate’s degree from Schenectady Community College. Sgt. Burgess is a french horn player, presently serving with the 1st ID Army Band at Ft. Riley, KS.
Sgt. Hoshko is a saxophone player, presently serving in Iraq with the 25th ID Army Band. His home station is Schofield Barracks, HI.
A July 17, 2010 wedding is planned.


Roman-Halbreiner
Engagement: Roman and Halbreiner

Anthony and Elizabeth Roman of Schenectady announce the engagement of their daughter Andrea Anne Roman, to Michael Scott Halbreiner, son of Dawn Piacini of Florence, SC and Carl Halbreiner of Bethesda, MD.
The future bride is a graduate of Mohonasen High School and received her d∑octorate of pharmacy from Albany College of Pharmacy. She is a clinical pharmacist at Long Island Jewish North Shore Medical Center.
Her fiance is a graduate of South Florence High School and Duke University with a bachelor of science and engineering degree. He is also a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina, with a medical degree. He is currently a surgical resident at Stony Brook Medical Center in Long Island.
An August 14, 2010 wedding is planned.


Mannato-Evans
Engagement: Mannato and Evans

Michael and MaryAnn Mannato of Rotterdam announce the engagement of their daughter Michele Mannato to Christopher Evans, son of Robert J. Evans of Rensselaer and Mary C. Evans of Clifton Park.
The future bride is a graduate of Mohonasen High School and Siena College, where she received her bachelor’s degree in social work and the College of Saint Rose, where she received her master’s degree in education in school counseling. She is a guidance counselor at Ichabod Crane High School.
Her fiance is a graduate of Shaker High School and the College of Saint Rose, where he received his bachelor’s degree in accounting. He is an accountant at Williams & Lombardi, P.C. CPA’s.
A July 2010 wedding is planned.


Joshua Lastarza Christina Fusco
Wedding: Lastarza

Christina Marie Fusco and Joshua Matthew Lastarza were married September 13, 2008 at St. Anthony’s Church, Schenectady. A reception followed at the Hall of Springs, Saratoga.
The bride is the daughter of David and Phyllis Fusco of Niskayuna. The groom is the son of Richard and Halina Lastarza of Schenectady
The bride and groom are both graduates of Siena College. Christina is credit department manager at Trustco Bank. Joshua is an account executive at Sports Signup, Saratoga.
The couple took a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii.

Julie Nichols and Matthew Graham were married May 30, 2009 in San Angelo , TX.
Julie is the daughter of Mae Nichols of Carlsbad, TX and the late Morris Nichols. Matthew is the son of Jim and Deb Graham of San Angelo, TX, formerly of Burnt Hills, NY.


Robert and Lois Vessels 60th Anniversary
Anniversary: Vessels

Robert and Lois (Nitchman) Vessels of Saratoga Springs and Chatham, MA recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple were married October 8, 1949 in Schenectady.
Their children are Eric Vessels and Heather Cushing. Their grandchildren are Andrew and Rebecca Cushing.
The couple met at Principia College in Elsah, IL., where they both graduated in 1949. Robert was born and raised in Long Beach, CA. Lois was born and raised in Schenectady.
