Robert and Toni Newberry of Morriston, FL., formerly of Princetown, have announced the engagement of their daughter Kelly Jo Newberry to Brian C. Fitzpatrick, son of Brian and Kathleen Fitzpatrick of Sparta, NJ. Kelly is the granddaughter of Audrey and Gordon Mahley of Schenectady.
The future bride is a graduate of Schalmont High School and received her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from SUNY Geneseo. She received her master’s degree in mathematics of finance from Columbia University.
Her fiance is a graduate of Pope John High School, Sparta, NJ. He received his bachelor’s degree in sports medicine from Wake Forest University and his doctorate in physical therapy from Columbia University. He currently runs his own practice, Fitzpatrick Physical Therapy in Springfield, NJ.
A late fall wedding is planned.
Robert and Janet Kristel of Niskayuna announce the engagement of their daughter Kristine, to Scott Papp, son of Barbara Papp and the late Andrew Papp of Bronx, NY.
The future bride is a graduate of Linton High School, Schenectady, NY and received her bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY. She is an account executive at Miller Advertising in New York City.
Her fiance is a graduate of Lehman High School, Bronx, NY., and received his bachelor’s degree from the University at Albany, and his juris doctor degree from Pace University School of Law. He is an associate at Lowey Dannenberg Cohen & Hart, P. C. in White Plains, NY, where he practices securities and commercial litigation.
A July 2009 wedding is planned at The Sagamore in Bolton Landing, NY.
Ron and Shirley celebrated their anniversary with a reception at Western Turnpike Golf Club, given by their daughter Julie Pyzanowski, her husband Gary and grandson Kyle.
George and Mary Cipriano of Rotterdam Junction recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at Cornell’s Restaurant with family and friends. The dinner party was hosted by their children.
The couple were married April 24, 1949 at St. Margaret of Cortona Church.
The former Mary Guagliardo graduated from Woestina High School. She worked as a teacher’s aide and in food service at Woestina Elementary School, retiring in 1988. She enjoys cooking and baking, watching the Yankees and being with family and friends.
Her husband is a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. He served in the army-Military Police in Germany after WWII. He worked as lead assembler in the Gas Turbine Dept. of G.E., retiring in 1985 with 43 years of service. He enjoys playing cards, watching the Yankees and being with family and friends.
Their children are Chris and Dennis Coletta of Glenville and Karen Cappello of Rotterdam. Their grandchildren are Alissa (Coletta) and Kevin Buhrmaster of Glenville, Erica (Cappello) and David MacDormand and great-granddaughter Kendi MacDormand of Rotterdam; Ronde Coletta of Manhattan and Kelsey Cappello of Rotterdam.
Gerald and Helen (DeLuke) of Rotterdam, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a surprise dinner party with family and friends at The Turf Tavern, Scotia, hosted by their family.
The couple were married April 24, 1949 at St. Anthony’s Church, Schenectady. Helen
retired from Bee Business Forms, where she worked in the office. She has been a bowler for over 40 years.
Her husband served in the U.S. Navy. He is a retired truck driver for UPS. He enjoys playing cards and traveling.
Their children are Patti (Skip) Orologio of Pattersonville and Jerry Farrington of Schenectady. They also have three grandchildren, Nick Oro-logio of NYC, Ben Orologio of Schenectady and Adam (Kate) Orologio of Pattersonville.
