The future bride is a graduate of Shenendehowa Central School and the College of Saint Rose, where she received her bachelor’s degree in education and her master’s degree in literacy. She is a special education teacher at Shenendehowa Central School, Clifton Park.
Her fiance is a graduate of Shenendehowa Central Schools and McGill University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in biology. He received his master’s degree in education from the University at Albany. He is a science teacher at Scotia-Glenville Central Schools.

David and Joanne Roman-owski of Rotterdam announce the engagement of their daughter, Jill Romanowski, to Michael Henderson, son of Edward Henderson of Scotia and the late Mary Ellen Henderson.
Jill is employed by Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory. Michael is employed by National Grid.

Ronald and Barbara Mastriani of Guilderland announce the engagement of their daughter Andrea Lynn Mastriani, to Jeremy Thomas Cavaretta, son of Leonard and Carol Cavaretta of Frankfort, NY. Andrea is also the granddaughter of Joseph and Gilda Giordano.
The future bride is a graduate of Guilderland Central High School and SUNY Oneonta, where she received a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics. She is a registered dietician and a pharmaceutical sales representative for Axcan Pharma US.
Her fiance is a graduate of Frankfort-Schuyler High School and Mohawk Valley Community College. He is master at arms (surface warfare specialist) in the U.S. Navy, currently stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba with the Navy Expeditionary Guard Battalion. He has been in the Navy since July 2001, stationed overseas in Italy for three years and then deployed to the Middle East for Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was a member of the Visit Board Search and Seizure Team, working with special operations teams and Coast Guard boarding ships in the Mediterranean Sea, stationed at the Navy Satellite Station in Prospect Harbor, ME for three years. He mentors lower ranking petty officers, is a line coach for small arms weapons and assists in training sailors for close quarter combat. He also competed in MMA (mixed martial arts) tournaments in the U.S. and overseas.

Marilyn and Donald West of Guilderland, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on November 8 with a dinner party at the Stadium Golf Course in Schenectady.
They were married November 7, 1948 in St. Bernard’s Church in Cohoes.
The party was given by their children, Cindy (Lou) Caru-sone of Rotterdam, Wendy (Doug) St. Andrews of Mariaville and Janet West of Colonie. Pictures and movies were taken by family friend, Steve Forsthoffer.
The Wests are grandparents of Michelle (Mark) Gursky of San Francisco and Karen (Paul) Sokolowski of Rotterdam. They are also great-grandparents of twins, Kylie and Colin Gursky.
Donald, an Army Air Force veteran, was a metalurgical specialist at General Electric Co. for 37 years until he retired in 1988. He is a lifetime member of the Rotterdam Elks Club. Don plays golf every day and enjoys shopping and spending time with family and friends.
Marilyn, the former Marilyn Connery, retired from the pension office at General Electric Co. in 1992. She teaches exercise class at the Glenville Senior Center, was membership coordinator of the Leisure Club in Scotia and enjoys reading, working with plastic canvas and scrapbooking.
William and Helen Cameron of Rotterdam recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 22 with a dinner dance attended by family and friends at the Rotterdam Elks Lodge. The party was given by their children and grandchildren.
The couple were married on November 27, 1958 at St. Adalbert’s Church, Schenectady.
Their 50th anniversary was recognized and blessed at a Mass at St. Joseph’s Church by Father Michael Hogan.
The former Helen Bobowski graduated from Scotia High School. She was an administrative assistant at GE Global Research Laboratory, retiring in 1993. Helen enjoys traveling, cooking, and her grandchildren.
Her husband is a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy and Siena College. He served in the U.S. Navy. William was a personnel staffing specialist at Watervliet Arsenal, retiring in 1988. He enjoys traveling, gardening and spending time with his family.
Their children are Laurie Lostritto, Jane Sanderson, and Mary Rose Waters, all of Rotterdam. They have seven grandchildren, Marisa Lostritto, Christian Lostritto, Alexandra Sanderson, Angelique Sanderson, William Sanderson, Blake Waters, and Elaina Waters.
