The future bride graduated from Merrimack High School and Western New England College. She is employed by Garelick Farms, Renssalaer.
Her fiance graduated from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School and Western New England College. He is employed at L.T.M. Publishing in Albany.

William and Geraldine Kearney of Rotterdam announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica L. Kearney, to Ryan S. Bennett, son of Richard Bennett of Edmeston, NY and Connie Bennett of West Exeter, NY.
The future bride is a graduate of Mohonasen High School and SUNY Brockport with a bachelor’s degree. She received her master’s degree in occupational therapy from Sage Graduate School.
Her fiance is a graduate of Mount Markham High School and Utica College, Syracuse. He is an occupational therapist at Julie Blair Nursing and Rehabilitation, Loudonville.

Gerald and Linda VanNorman of Grant, Michigan, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Shannon, to Robert Nealon, son of Sandra Nealon of Schenectady and the late Bernard Nealon.
The future bride, a graduate of Grant High School, received her bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College. She is currently pursuing her law degree at Roger Williams University School of Law in Rhode Island. Expected graduation in May of 2009. She completed her summer internship with the United States Attorney’s Office.
The future groom, a graduate of Mohonasen High School, received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Rhode Island and his MBA at Syracuse University. He is currently the branch manager at a financial staffing firm, Robert Half International in Providence, RI.
The wedding is being planned for August 29, 2009.
On December 26, 2008 Ian David Vonie and Meredith Suzanne Sonnen were married in a small private wedding ceremony at 19 Jacob Street in Ballston Lake, NY.
Present for the bride were her father, John Sonnen of Washington, PA, her aunt, Barbara Sonnen of Frankfort, KY, and Ms. Natalie Alexander of Washington, PA.
Present for the groom were his parents, Dyahn and David Vonie, his sister, Erika, all of Ballston Lake, NY, and Laura Vonie of Ballston Spa, NY. The newlyweds honeymooned at a bed and breakfast in Cen-
tral NY. They reside in Pittsburgh, PA.
The couple expresses this wish to extended family and friends: “Our private moment of joy is now a public one and we are forever grateful for your love and support.”
Paul and Bernice Andrews of Rotterdam, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner party at the Beckerings’ lakeside home. The party was given by their children and their families. Special guests were their best man and his wife, Bud and Betty McCabe and Celeste Trotz.
The couple were married October 23, 1948 at the Cobleskill Methodist Church.
The former Bernice Fancher graduated from Cobleskill Central School and SUNY Cobleskill. She is a homemaker and retired volunteer certified literacy braille transcriber. She is an active member of Carman United Methodist Church and enjoys gardening and crafts.
Her husband is a graduate of Cobleskill Central School and HVCC. He served 3 years in the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He is a retired television broadcast engineer. He worked at WRGB and NY Network. He is an amateur radio operator and a member of the Carman UMC.
Both were members of the now disbanded Rotterdam Lions/Lionesses Club.
Their children are Linda (Ronald) Beckering of Northville, Keith (Catherine) Andrews of Broadalbin, Gail Andrews of Rotterdam, Jean (David) Schoonbeck of Rotterdam, Joneen (Mark) Mortensen of Mansfield, MA, and Sherry (Robert) Macey of Clifton Park. They also have 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Raymond and Naomi Cichy of Scotia recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner at Glen Sanders Mansion.
The couple were married at the Second Dutch Reformed Church in Schenectady November 11, 1948.
The former Naomi Cox graduated from Mont Pleasant High School. She retired from Scotia-Glenville High School. She enjoys Tai-Chi, bowling, gym workouts and reading.
Her husband graduated from Nott Terrace High School. He was a car inspector for the Delaware & Hudson R.R. He enjoys the gym, golf, bowling, hunting and fishing.
Their children are Valerie (Ken) Townsend of Cambridge, NY, Claudia (Bob) Bruce of Blythwood, SC, and Mark (Carol) Cichy of Glenville, NY.
Their grandchildren are Chris (Lucy) Townsend of Saratoga Springs, Kelly (Kevin) Komisor of Coatsville, PA, Evan Cichy of Glenville, and Jordan (Julianna) Cichy-U.S. Marine Corps, Miramar, CA.
The couple also has two
great-grandchildren, Westly and
Ella Townsend of Saratoga, NY. Their dearest enjoyment is family and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. James Purcell of Niskayuna, NY, are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter, Alyssa Purcell, to Frederic Chapados, son of Helene and Dr. Gilles Chapados of Niskayuna, NY.
The future bride is a graduate of Niskayuna High School and received her bachelor
degrees from Northeastern University in sociology and
elementary education. From there she attended the University at Albany, where she graduated with a master’s degree in literacy for elementary aged children. She is currently working as a teacher of students with special needs at Reece School, located in New York City.
The future groom is a graduate of Niskayuna High School and attended Boston College, where he received bachelor degrees in finance and chemistry. He is currently working as an energy analyst in the investment Banking Division at Citigroup in New York City.
The couple is planning a July 2009 wedding.
