Timothy and Rebecca Halladay of Charlton announce the engagement of their son, Christopher Michael Halladay, to Lauren Elizabeth Mills, daughter of James and Margaret Mills of Escalon, CA.
The future bride is a graduate of Escalon High School, CA and is currently attending The Art Institute of Colorado for Design Management.
Her fiance is a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School and is currently attending, The Art Institute of Colorado for Industrial Design.
They will both graduate in the fall of 2009. A September 2008 wedding is planned.
Frank and Mary Salvatore of Rotterdam, announce the engagement of their daughter, Danielle Marie Salvatore, to Daniel Anthony Ciampino Jr., son of Daniel and Jeanne Ciampino of Niskayuna.
An October 2008 wedding is planned.

Lisa Anne Racanello, daughter of Janet and Joseph Racanello, of Stamford, CT, was married on August 23, 2008 to Justin Laurence Bergner, the son of Jane Cohen Bergner, of Bethesda, MD, and the late Alfred Paul Bergner. The Reverend William Billow, Jr., Senior Chaplain at St. Albans School, Washington, D.C., from which the bridegroom graduated, officiated at the Shorehaven Golf Club in East Norwalk, CT. Jane Cohen Bergner, the bridegroom’s mother, formerly resided in Schenectady, as did the bridegroom’s maternal grandparents, Louis Cohen, M.D. and Selma Breslaw Cohen, both of whom are deceased.
Mrs. Bergner, 28, is an accountant at the Energy Financial Services Unit of General Electric in Stamford, Connecticut. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Connecticut from which she also received a Master’s Degree in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
The bride’s father is the Corporate Controller of Arlee Home Fashions in New York City. The bride’s mother is an Instructional Coordinator for the Stamford Public Schools.
Mr. Bergner, 32, is a Research Analyst at Axiom International Investors, an asset management firm in Greenwich, CT. He graduated cum laude from Yale University and received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
The bridegroom’s mother, Jane Cohen Bergner, a former chair of the District of Columbia Bar Taxation Section, has her own law practice in the District of Columbia, the law offices of Jane C. Bergner. The bridegroom’s late father, Alfred Paul Bergner, also a tax attorney and a former judicial clerk for the United States Tax Court, practiced law with his wife prior to his death in 2002.
The couple reside in Stamford, CT.
John and Susan Ripley of Ballston Spa have announced the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Ripley, to Matthew Reynolds, son of Craig Reynolds of Glenville and Susan Gabelman of Ballston Spa. Amanda is the granddaughter of Robert and Beverly Czub. Matthew is the grandson of Paul Cohen. The couple became engaged in July 2007.
The future bride graduated cum laude from Northeastern University, Boston, MA, with a degree in organizational communications. She is an account manager for a corporate investigative agency in Boston, MA.
Her fiance graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern University, Boston, MA with a degree in mechanical engineering. He is currently pursuing his MBA at Babson College, Wellesley, MA, and is employed as an operations manager for the General Electric.

James and Rhona Lanigan of Rotterdam recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Nova Scotia and a surf and turf barbecue, given by their children and grandchildren.
The Lanigans were married August 23, 1958 at St. Willabroads R.C. Church in Manchester, England.
The former Rhona Cooper is a retired registered nurse and her husband retired as a superintendent in construction.
Carl and Barbara Thurnau of Burnt Hills, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family trip to Disney World and a picnic at Saratoga State Park for family and friends.
The couple were married September 6, 1958 in Utica, New York.
The former Barbara McNaney graduated from Utica Free Academy and Syracuse University School of Nursing. She was a former night supervisor at Glendale Home. She enjoys travel, knitting, sewing and her grandchildren.
Her husband is a graduate of New Hartford Central School and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, as a professional mechanical engineer. He retired from the NYS Dept. of Labor as assistant director of the Division of Safety & Health. He served as an officer in the US Army and was an active reservist, retiring as lt. Colonel after 30 years service. He is a member of the Burnt Hills Fire Dept. and enjoys fishing, hunting, his camp on Sacandaga and his grandchildren.
Their children are Cynthia Duffy (Tim) of Tomball, TX., Carl T. Thrunau (Elizabeth) of Burnt Hills and Nancy Liguori (Mark) of Ridgefield, CT. They also have eight grandchildren.
Carl and Veronica (Grzebien) Agosta of Pattersonville, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with close family and friends at the Crystal Ristorante, Amsterdam. The party was given by their daughter Terri Biasini.
The Agostas were married June 21, 1958 at St. Joseph’s Church in Amsterdam.
Veronica is retired after 20 years with Kerbelis & Sons, Inc. Carl is the retired owner of Carl’s Construction. They both enjoy spending time with their grandchildren, family, gardening and traveling. They have two children, Terri Biasini, fiance of Gary Knapik, and Lisa Desbiens, both of Amsterdam. They also have six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
